Carlos Andres Monsalve received both his Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees from the Andrews University School of Architecture located in Southwest Michigan. While there, he nurtured his keen interest in digitalized architecture, along with manual arts (hand drawing, and wood-working) and photography. Always the travel enthusiast, Carlos thrives in understanding local architectural customs and traditions in order to learn how they served to shape the culture.
In the summer of 2013, Carlos joined the team of architects at Wade Weissmann Architecture where he keenly developed his residential design skills under the tutelage of renown architects. In the fall of 2017 he joined Wade Design Architects as a Project Manager where his dedication and attention to detail have made him an integral member of his team. In 2018, he moved to Texas to begin a new chapter as he sought to better understand the development process and impart bigger picture design in the fast growing community of Rowlett. Working for the city as the Urban Design Officer and Land-use Administrator, he has been able to use his extensive knowledge of New Urbanist principles and general site design to establish and enforce a Form-Based Code in this community. Carlos is a licensed architect in the State of Texas, and a member of the American Institute of Architects (AIA).
In his free time, Carlos is likely found renovating his fixer-upper, making music, or tending to one of the leadership roles at his local church.
